MR. A. M'NICOL.

Mr. A. M'Nicol, who has been elected for Pahiatua in the Reform interest, has been managing'editor of the Dannevirke Evening News almost since its inception ton years ago. He started his newspaper career in Dunedin on the Otago Daily Times, and was later for many sears on the staff of the Daily Telegraph, Napier, ultimately becoming chief reporter. In 1909 he joined the Dannevirke Evening News as sub-editor, and soon afterwards assumed his present position of managing editor. During his life in Dannevirke he has taken an active interest in local politics, and has been president of the Dannevirke Chamber of Commerce.
