WELLINGTON CENTRAL
MR, FRASER RE-ELECTED. Fraser (Lab.) 4257 Plrani (L.) 3295 Majority for Fraser ... 962 The results of the Wellington Central election were in early, as might have been expected in a straight-out duel in a compact constituency. The main booth, at the Old Skating Rink gave the Labour candidate, Mr. Fraser, a substantial lead, more than equal to his final majority. At the other polling stations the numbers fluctuated, now one and now the other of the candidates getting the majority. The final result was not unexpected. The supporters of Mr. Fraser were well in evidence, and signified their
satisfaction in cheers as the numbers went up. The polling? arrangements organised by the Returning Officer, Mr. R. C. O'Connor, worked smoothlyHhroughout. The total number of votes recorded was 7695,; and there are 224 seamen's rights, and 204. other absentee votes to come in. The result cannot be affected. Following are the details of the polling : .
