HUTT
At Petone and other parts of the Hutt electorate polling is proceeding at a steady rate, and it is anticipated that the poll will bo a heavy one. Each of the candidates and both parties in the licensing _ issue are being well served with vehicles, and every effort is being made to induce electors to record their votes. Owing apparently to the short time given for the preparation of the booths, there was somo slight confusion and delay at the School booth at Petone, but this was overcome by 9.30 a.m., and polling proceeded regularly. The results will be displayed by The Post and Chronicle in conjunction, at the rear of the Chronicle Buildings. It is expected that the local returns will be available, with the exception of those from some of the small outlying booths, before 9.30 p.m.
