CLYDE QUAY
The children of the Clyde-quay School, with their parents and friends, assembled at the Paramount Theatre yesterday for the annual breakiug-up ceremony. Tho proceedings opened with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a brief address by the chairman of the School Committee (Mr. R. Soott), who spoke in terms of high praise of the school's record, and of the work done by teachers and pupils during the past year. A concert programme was contributed by the pupils, opening with an action song by the junior boys and a dance by the younger .girls. There were several other items, including a song by Jack M'Gill, dances by the girls, and a solo By one of the boys on a single string stretched'over an empty kerosene tin—a novel and clever performance. The chairman then presented the prizes, a list of which has been published.
