CHRISTCHUROH, 16th Dec. The New Brighton Trotting Club's Meeting was concluded to-d_y in excellent weather. There was a large attendance, the day being a holiday. The totalisator handled £34,966 10s, making £66,975 for the meeting, against £27,040 10s at last year's one-day fixture.1 Results :—
Second Amateur Handicap, of 100 soys; one mile and a half.—2 Energetic, 3sec, 1; 14 Delta, scr, 2; 6 Tinkle Bells, 3sec, 3. Time, 3min 42 2-ssec.
Shirley Handicap, of 160 soys; two miles.—4 Wonderland, Usee, lj 1 Eosie M'Kinney, Bsec, 2; 2 Billy Parole, 7sec, 3. Time, 4min 55 2-ssec.
New Brighton Handicap, of 450 soys; two miles.—4' Cora Dillon, 6seo, 1; 10 Sympathy, Bsec, 2; 7 Mint-son, 6sec, 3. Time, 4min 37sec.
Summer Handicap, of 200 soys; one mile and a half :—1 Emperor, 6sec, 1; 3 Gold Queen, 6sec, 2; 8 Hoymetta, 4sec, 3. Time, 3min 30 1-5 sec.
Park Handicap, of 250 soys; two miles.—2 Imperial Crown, 7sec, 1; 1 Olive L., Bsec, 2; 5 Beta Peter, scr, 3. Time, 4min 43 4-ssec.
Avon Handicap, of 160 soys; one mile.—s Proud Spring, 4sec, 1; 8 Frank Tracey, 2sec, 2; 10 Birdwood, lsec, 3. Time, 2min 18 4-ssec.
Beach Handicap, of 250 soys; one mile and a- quarter.—4 Sungod, ssec, 1; 1 Trix Pointer, lsec, 2; 5 Rorke's Drift, ssec, 3. Time, 2min 50 l-ssec.
Farewell Handicap, of 160 soys; one mile.—3 Mabinga, 7sec, 1; 4 All Bell, 7sec, 2; 7 Rorke's Drift, 4sec, 3. Time, 2min 16 4-ssec.
The open events at the Wellington Summer Meeting, for which nominations close on Friday, are as follow: — First day.—Nursery Handicap, of 400 soys, five furlongs; Anniversary Handicap, of 400 soys, one mile; Wellington' Cup Handicap, of 1500 soys, one mile and a half ; Telegraph Handicap, of 1000 soys, six furlongs. Second day.—January Welter Handicap, of 350 soys, one mile; Fitzherbert Handicap, of 300 soys, five furlongs; Kelburn Plate, of 500 soys, four furlongs; Racing Club Handicap, of 1000 soys, one mil. and three furlongs: Metropolitan Handicap, of 500 soys, six furlongs.
