AMATEUR ATHLETICS
WELLINGTON CENTRE,
The annual meeting of tho Wellington Centre, N.Z.A.A.A., held in tho V.M.C.A. Rooms, was marked by a good attendance of members, which points favourably towards bringing amateur sports back to the high standard of pre-war days. Mr. A. W. O. Travers occupied the chair. The following officers were elected- — President, Mr. R. M'Villy; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. T. S. Ronaldson (Wellington), W. Dixon (Masterton), and W. Corby (Wanganui); hon. treasurer, Mr. A. C. Kitto; hon. aecretary, Mr. J. O'Sullivan; handicappers, Messrs. O'Donnel (Masterton), Kitto, and Pollock (Wellington) ; local officer, Mr. Hodson; walking judge, Mr. Ellis; starter, Mr. T. W. Leslie; delegates to the N.Z.A.A.A. Messrs. D. M'Kenzie and B. A. -Guise;, hon. auditor, Mr. A. E. Kitching. The Paraparaumu Sports Club w«3 granted permission to hold a sports meeting^ on New Year's Day. The matter of holding the provincial championship was left in the hands of Messrs. Travers, O'Sullivan, and Kitto. It was also decided to hold the monthly meeting of the centre on the second Tuesday in each month. ,
A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of three members lost during the war. A hearty vote of thanks to the retiring officers concluded the meeting.
