PICTURE CENSORSHIP

The staff of the Wellington Girls' Collego recently discussed picture shows in general, and the following motion was passed :—"That' for the sakii of the young people in the community, as well as for the1 large number of adults who would welcome a better class1 of programme than is usually 'shown in picture theatres, the staff of t>6 Wellington' Girls' College is strongly of opinion that: ' (1) Women censors should bo appointed; (2) AlJ'picture theatres should' be efficiently controlled by the Education Department, or by tho City' Council (the municipal' authorities)." A deputation from the staff of the college was sympathetically received by -the censor, and assured by him that ho would welcome suggestions or objections as, to any pictures seen by any member of the staff.
