THE HATIMURA.
News wai received in Wellington recently that a steamer called the Hatimura had left Now. York for Lyttelton; Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney, on behalf of the American and Australian Line. No vessel of this name appears in Lloyd's Register or Supplements, but inquiries made show that the standardised steamer War Opal, 6666 tons register, had been sold to the British India Company, and renamed Hatimura.
The New Zealand Shipping Company announces that the steamer Bremen left England on the 7th December for Wellington with 1000 passengers on board. The Bremen is to call at Capetown en route, and is due at Wellington about the 26th January.
The Shaw-Savill liner Mahana is expected to leave Wellington on Thursday next for Gisborne to load, and will return to Wellington on the 28th December. She will sail finally on the 6th January.
