THE HUTT SEAT
MR. RISHWORTH'S MEETINGS
The Reform candidate for th* Hutt seat, Mr B. P. Rishworth, addressed two meetings in the Hutt Valley on Saturday. In the afternoon, lie and Mrs. Rishworth spoke to a meeting of Women in the Oddfellows' Hall, Petone, where the candidate was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. In the evening Mr. Rdshworth addressed' a crowded! meeting at Epuni. He spoke of the industrial progress needed by the country, and of the fallacies of genei"al nationalisation. He also made a strong ploa for a better understanding between employer and employee, pointing out how successful had been the! co-operative system in Scotland and England, and what it hadi done to improve the condition of the workers. He went on to deal with some of the political-insincerities, of the liberal Party, and quoted from the Year Book to show the actual work which had been done, by the Reform, Government. A hearty vote of thanks and.■confidence was carried.
