The Ottawa correspondent of the New York Times # reports that the Canadian Government "has shipped to the United States twenty million dollars in gold, in order to equalise the exchange rates between Canada and the United States. Canadian, importers are being urged to reduce their purchases in the United States, and owing to the unfavourable exchange post office and money-orders to the United States have stopped.
