CONDITIONS OF RACING

JOCKEY CLUB'S INQUIRY.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(AUSTRALIAN ■ NEW ZHALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

(Received December 5, noon£

LONDON, 2nd December.

The Jockey Club's committee appointed to inquire into the conditions of racing finds that the proportion of stakes contributed by owners is considerably higher than in France, Australia, and New Zealand, and contrasts the generous treatment of owners by Australian clubs as compared with that in England, especially in regard to added money and giving the public lower admission rates. The report recommends that the Jockey Clubs should have a closer control of raccourses and' should lower the admission charges.
