PALOONA, FROM AUCKLAND. After a rough trip the Paloona arrived at Wellington at 4 p.m. yesterday from Auckland, and berthed at the Glasgow Wharf to load general cargo for Melbourne. DAMAGE TO KAROBI. On Monday last the Karori, which struck while navigating the channel between Quarantine and Goat Islands recently, was docked at Port Chalmers for repairs. The damage is fairly extensive. The steamer evidently first touched the rooks well forward, for close to the base of the 3tem, 6n the port side, there is a pronounced dent. About 40ft further aft the hull is also dented. Then further aft still—in the vicinity of the engfofiroora—the principal damage lias been sustained, and it lis shown by a number of deep dents, some of I them close to the keel plate. " Xvi 3omfc cases I theso dents have loosened the end:) of the sheet-plates from the butt straps, thus causing leakage. There are minor dents right aft, towards the propeller, one ot these being on the starboard aide. Tbe bilge keels are intact, hut, at one place on the port sldo is * dent, near tho bilgckael. To repair tbe. damage about ten shell plates will have to be removed, and some of these plates may have to be renewed. The Kaiwarra is due at Wellington to-mor-row from Lyttelton to discharge cargo from Adelaide. The Parattah, due at Wellington to-morrow from Aueklsnd with case oil, is to sail next week for Newcastle. .
