THE PRIZE LIST.

The special prize for the beat tose at the Jiutt Valley Horticultural Show yesterday was awarded to Mr Henry Poole for ji magnificent) sp&oimeil of "General M'Arthur." The special prize ' for the best vase of sweet peas went to Mr. J. J Reich, and that for the best carnation to Mr. C; D. Wilson. The R.H.S. silver medal was awarded Mr Henry Poole for his trade exhibit of pdt plants, and the R.H.S bronze medal to Miv Jackson, Brooklyn, for a fine collection of pansies for exhibition only Amongst the roses much admired were the fine collection known by Colonel J. R, Pufdy, prominent in which were twelve specimens of the"' rose ''Mrs. J. R Purdj>" ■ The chief winners in the first section of the open class, which counted for the points prize, were F Westbury, 4 firsts and 5 seconds, Colonel j R Pufdy, 2 firsts and 4 seconds, Henry Poole, 2 firsts and 1 second, and J. J. Reich I firstl

The winners in the second part of the open class were 0. P. Wilson, 4 firsts and 1 second, Mrs. Hursthpuse, 1 first, F Westbury, 2 seconds, and S. Mason 1 second.

11l the amateur class> Miss Charlesworth secured 5 firsts and 1 second, Colonel Purely 1 first and 2 second, P. K. Porteous 1 first and 2 seconds, and S. Mason 1 second.

In the novice class, M. E. W.- Mason won .a first and a second; and Mrs. Charles Slater a first.

The winners in the cottage garden class were—P Joseph 2 firsts, Mrs. Murphy a first and a second, and Mrs. Charles Slater a second.

lii the. decorative class Miss Keating secured 2 firsts and a second, Mrs. A. *T Hobbs 2 firsts, and Mrs. J. J. Reich and Mrs. C Slater each a. second. . The fudge's award for the decorated tables for adults was: Mrs. A. J Hobbs first and Mrs. Coooer second, and for children, Ruth Hobbs first and Miss f. M'Donald second. The prize for the lady's spray was won by Miss Mi Putter, with Keith Hertdry second, and thai for the gentleman's buttonhole by G. Futter, with Keith Fendry second.
