BREWERS' EMPLOYEES

AWARD AMENDED,

Tho Arbitration Court has filed an order amending the award of the Wellington brewers, bottlers, bottle-washers, and aerated water omployees. The order states : "The following shall be the minimum rates of wages :—Brewers and maJt-house labourers, £3 7s 6d per week for the first three months, and £3 10s per week thereafter; bottling store labourers, £3 5s per week for the first three months, and £3 7s 6d per week thereafter. A worker shall be deemed to be a- casual worker if he shall not be employed continuously for more than one week, and he shall be paid Is 9d per hour wherever employed." The part of the order; relating to the wages of permanent hands operates as from Sth September last. Tho rest of the order takes effect from Bth December, 1919. The workers aflected are those employed within a sixty-mile radius of Wellington city.
