Twisting plays a great part'in the manufacture of silk. Tbl3 more it :s twitted, the less brilliant, but tin. stronger, it become?. .In tho making of sonic silks that are semitransparent and dull (such as crepe), there are about 3000 twists to evcrv yard. In satin _ there are 000 twists to'every yard, but tne average "twist?._-" to tho yard is 650.
