The memorable engagement between tne arder. had a pleasing sequel at Liver pool, when the ship was formally pre sented by the Navy League with a pieco of silve/ plate which once formed part of Lord Nelson's dinner - service. ■ Ihe Carmania is the only merebwt ship to bo so honoured, the other 23 piece* o pW» used by tho great Admiral going to Ills Maiestv's vessels. This valuable- memento of an historic event has been appropriately mounted and set m a panel in the dining saloon of the famous liner, bii Thomas fioyden, MP.,. very appropriate, ly pointed out -t the presentation luncheon which was held on board the Carmania that the moral tob e ,d™nfrom the encounter was that .the British sailor was a sailor and a fighting man, whether he wore th/ broad band of the Koya Navy or tho wavy band of the Kojal Naval Reserve.
