A BODY FOUND

The body of an elderly man named Mr. Richard James Davis ,was found on Mount Victoria yesterday, and was removed to the morgue. Davis had been an inmate of the Wellington Hospital for some time past, and on Friday last left the institution without the knowledge of the authorities. Apparently He had walked as far as the slopes of Jlount Victoria, near Moxham-avenue, and had then been unable, owing to his weak state of health, to return, as there were indications that deceased had remained on tho spot for some time before he died, probably of exposure. - '

Deceased leaves a wife and a son, Francis Davis, who is employed by the Railway Department at Wanganui.
