Mr. Spencer R. Mason (late lieutenant in the R.N.V.R.) returned to Wellington by the Paparoa last week. He left Wellington at the end of 1916 as a sublieutenant ml the Motor- Boat Patrol, and served in the Auxiliary Patrol in the Adriatic, Mediterranean, and jEgean Seas (anti-submarine warfare). ' Mr. Mason, who is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Mason, of Wellington, saw many of the world's famous cities during his war service, spending some time in Rome and Constantinople. While -waiting for a boat to return to New Zealandhe had an opportunity of seeing much of England.
