PALMERSTON N., This Day. The weather is, showery for the second day of the Palmerston North Spring Show. Very heavy rain fell during the. morning. Tho visitors to-day included tho Governor-General, the Earl of Liverpool, who was entertained at luncheon by tho association. The attendance of the public is small. Cattle and sheep were penned to-day and made an excellent showing. The quality all round is very high. The following championships were awarded up to noon: — Horses.—Champion hack, Miss G. Maher's (Hastings) Batchelor.
Pedigree Cattle.—Shorthorn bull, W. Gray, Colyton; Hereford cow, E. Short, Feilding; North Devon bull and cow, YV. J. Birch, Marton; Ayrshire cow, C. B. Morgan, Woodville.
