The overhaul of the Maori at Port Chalmers has been hampered by a shortage of skilled labour, but there is a probability of her being ready by the middle of this month, labour conditions at Home have delayed the work of reconditioning the Wahine at Dumbarton, bnt the vessel is expected to reach New Zealand in December. BHAW-SAVILL MOVEMENTS. On Tuesday afternoon the lonic is to leave Wellington for lyttelton and Port Chalmers ..to discbarge and to commence loading. At midnight to-morrow the Kia Ora Is expected in Wellington from Noumea with a coal cargo for the .Railway Department. Owing to the delay caused by unfavourable weather at Wanganui the Karamea ls not expected to leave' Wellington before the 13th or Uth November for London. PERSONAL. Mr. F. Furneaux is now third engineer of the Manuka, vice Mr. R. Mentinlay. Mr. R. McConohie is seventh engineer'on the same vessel. Mr. C. R. Smith, purser of the Mokoia, has joined the Manuka as assistant purser, relieving Mr. J. Sligo. Last evening the Monowai left Auckland for Napier and Wellington. She is duei here on Saturday next, and will sa.il on Saturday afternoon for Lyttelton and Dunedin. Last evening heavy rain prevented the Moeraki from finishing her cargo forking at Wellington, and consequently the vessel could not sail. last night for Lyttelton. A number of Intending passengers missed their passage, but some.were taken South on the Manuka. Tlie Moeraki is leaving Wellington to-day for Lyttelton. The local agents for the Northern Company (Levin and Co.) advise that the Rimu, which is ' taking the Rarawa's running temporarily, will leave New Plymouth this evening and on Saturday for Onehunga, jnstead of to-morrow. General merchandise is now being loaded by the Tahiti at Melbourne for Bluff and Dunedin. She is due at Dunedin about Thursday next, and on discharge will probably return to Melbourne to load for New Zealand. ' With general cargo for Dunedin the John is to leave Wellington to-morrow. 'She is to load at Oamaru and Timaru for Wanganui. The Corinna is to sajl from New Plymouth to-morrow for Wellington, where she is due on Saturday. The vessel leaves Wellington on Monday for Dunedin.
