THE PREMIER EXHIBIT AT THE SHOW.

Manson and Barr, Ltd., Palmerston North and Hamilton.

The agricultural machinery exhibit at the Manawatu Show, now in progress at Palmerston North, amply demonstrates the leading position Messrs. Manson and Barr,. Ltd., the well-known machinery and hardware merchants, of Rangitikeistreet, Palmerston North, and Hamilton,' |in the Waikato, hold throughout the I Dominion for the supply of all'lines required to work the farm. The firm's display forms the main feature of the agricultural section of the' Show, and covers more ground than.all others combined. The firm's display contains many new and really interesting lines, and is indicative of the' great resources and business ability of its management. There is something to talk about at Manson and Barr's stand, and all classes of fanners evidently find it so, because ever since the Show opened there has been a constant stream of people to and fro, in and out the alley-ways among the various machines, and each and every ono seems to havo its quota of admirers. Ono very formidable-looking contrivance, known as a "Thomas Hay Loader," with electric steel wheel wagon, is creating some special interest. It isJa big laboursaver, and should be readily disposed of to farmers who believe in providing hay for their stock in winter. This machine picks up the hay direct from the ground, and subsequently places it in a stack, at a third of the cost usual for this class of work.

The firm also exhibit the well-proved Bidd milking machine; Lister and Blackstone engines; a Keystone threshing mill;, Andrews and Bevan 10-inch Canterbury chaff-cutter; Noxon spring tine, lever, and disc harrows; Noxon reaper and binder; Farmers' Favourite drill; Wilkinson one-horse ploughs, Wilkinson scoops; Ontario saw bench; and also a most unique power saw—the Vaughan drag saw—that is being shown in actual working order, and readily cuts'through a big log several feet, in circumference. There is a great demand for this saw, and those desirous of acquiring, one should secure it at once. There are few procurable at present.

Messrs. Manson and Barr's • warehouse and offices are situated in Bangitikeistreet, and besides machinery they hold a big stock of hardware and general ironmongery. One of their agencies is of the Massey Harris implements. A

stock of all this famous machinery, as well as spare parts, is kept. The firm. also.control the agency for WILSON'S (N.Z.) PORTLAND CEMENT, LTD. . The enormously increasing sales for Wilson's "Star. brand cement shows that it is finding great favour with farmers and public bodies throughout tho whole of the Dominion. Wilson's famed "Star" brand cement is being extensively used nowadays in the laying down of permanent roadways through various counties, and it is perfectly. certain to predict that in the near future all the more important highways will be constructed in concrete, and for the best results in this direction nothing can equal Wilson's "Star" brand cement, every bag of which is manufactured at the company's own works, and carries their guarantee that it is .always above British standard specification. Wilson "Star" cement was the first Portland cement manufactured in tho ■ Southern Hemisphere (1885), and it is now, as it" always has been, the standard in New Zealand, and distinct from any' other brand on the market for uniform high quality, pleasing .colour, and everlasting-results. Every 'bag is branded ■ with;':the .'.company's 'registered tiade .mark, and care should bo taken to note this r when purchasing. A fact worthy of mention is that' almost invariably engineers, architects, and other professionals' with' a thorough knowledge of their calling specify Wilson's "Star" brand' for all important works. The finest buildings erected in late years in and around Palmerston North have^ been erected with it, and this is as it should be—because it is the best. Wilson's is a New (Zealand industry in which large numbers of our own people find employment, and this is a point that should be taken into consideration . when supplies of ; cement are required. Order your supplies from Manson and Barr, sole agents.
