A SERIOUS CHARGE

The trial of Patrick Murphy, a fireman of about thirty years of iige, on a charge of indecently assaulting a lad of fifteen years of age, in the Thistln Inn Hotel, was comtmued at the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Chapman. Mr. P. S. K. Macassey prose cuted on behalf of the Crown, and Mr, H. F. O'Leary defended. Mr. W. Gamble was foreman of the jury, Tho evidence for the prosecution was tho same as that given in the lower Court. The accused, in evidence, denied that he committed the offence complained of, and witnesses wero called in support of his case. Counsel addressed the jury., and his Honour having summed up, the jury retired to consider their verdict shortly after 3 p.m.
