WEATHER CONDITIONS

The acting-Dominion Meteorologist (Mr. B. V. Pemberton) reports to-day "that a depression in the south moved to the east during the night,'but the barometer ; continues to fall in the northern districts. Cloudy and misty weather has prevailed, and rain' has fallen in many parts of the country. Northerly winds, strong and squally at times, have predominated. Tho indications are for cloudy and unsettled conditions, with further rain in many places. Strong northerly winds are likely northward of New Plymouth, and Napier, backing to southerlies shortly, while elsewhere variable winds with north-westerly to southwesterly direction are probable.
