SEVENTY-EIGHT YEARS
WESLEY SUNDAY SCHOOL ANOTVERSAEY Since the establishment of the Wssiey Church Sunday School, in Mannersstreet, in 1841, much, water has ran under the bridge, and to-morrow at Tara-naki-street the 78th anniversary will be celebrated. During the year the attendance of scholars and teachers has been well maintained, the average attendance being as follows (total on roll mentioned in parentheses): —Officers (8) 6, teachers (27) 22, junior helpers (23) 12, scholars main scliool (220) 137, junior department (30) 24, primary and beginners' department (64) 35 ; total (352) 236. For regular attendance during the past year 82 scholars were awarded prizes. The total income for the year, derived from contributions given at tile anniversary season, was £94 14s 9d, and the expenditure for the same period £95 16s 3d, showing a debit on working of £1 Is 6d. The scholars have contributed by means of their weekly offerings, a sum of £58 7s 9d in aid of Home and Foreign Missions. ■ The Sunday School depends for its support entirely upon the offerings received at the anniversary service; the whole of the scholars' offerings given throutthow.v the yaw w dovotw to the r. id of the Home and Foreign Mission oJ % cbuj,^ . ■ ■
