The fortnightly meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held this week, the president, Mr. F. Meadowcroft, being in the chair. The inspector reported ,that he had investigated the following cases since last meeting :—Two cases of sores on horses, three cases of lameness, two cases of overloading and one of cruelty to a dog, cat, and fowls. Subscriptions received amounted to. £7 16s, including £1 la each J. Staples and Co., Friend, and Wellington Trades and Labour Council.
