BOISTEROUS WEATHER
Yesterday, although the sky was clouded over, remained fine, and was entirely agreeable, with a clears cabnight following. However, late last night a westerly wind arose, and to-day-has been boisterous, with showers. Fair to cloudy weather has prevailed in the East Coast districts, but changeable and. squally conditions have ruled elsewhere, and rain was falling this morning in the western portion of the South Island. Westerly winds, strong' to gale, have predominated, and atmospheric pressure has decreased in the South, but has risen in ; the Far North. . Strong westerly winds with a southerly tendency are to be expected in the South, with an unsteady barometer falling in the North and rising, in the South. Warning sig-^ nals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria van Diemen, Tiritiri, Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwind, and Nugget Point. Unsettled, boisterous weather, with rain generally, is looked for. "There will probably be heavy rain with Hooded rivers in the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island.
Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Co., in conjunction with Mr. R. C. Rennor, will sell at their rooms, Featherston-street, at 2,00 p'm. on Wednesday next a five-room-ed house and nearly ah aero of land at the junction of Totara and Rona streets, Rona Bay; also a section having frontages to both Rona and Totara streets, and a building allotment in Tasman-street.
