It was not an ordinary rush but a regular stampede, reminding one of a consolation picnic race, that occurred at James Smith's, Cuba-street, this morning, when the doors of this establishment were opened to admit.tbe public to the great sale of Weill's stock that commenced to-day. The firm regrets having to close the doors half-an-hour after they were opened, but the crowd inside was so dense that it was simply imperative to regulate the number of customers allowed in at a time. James Smith, Ltd., take to-day's record business as another proof rof the public's appreciation of their efforts to bring down prices to the lowest possible point. The sale of Neill's stock will be continued to-morrow, and following days, with unabated enthusiasm.—Advt.
