LODGE MEETINGS

Poneke Lodge, No. 29, U.A.0.D., Petone, held . its meeting last evening. The A.D., Bro. Greenwood, presided. One candidate was initiated. Eight brothers declared themselves on the sick fund, and the Bards' report was received. Mention was made of the lodge's display at the Peace celebrations, and the way brothers had acquitted themselves. by giving their time and work to make the display a success. A meeting of united societies' trustees will, be, held .on Tuesday next, to interview a doctor, with the view of providing another in succession to tlie late Dr. Ross. The first series of games of progressive euchre was started. A prize is to be donated at the end of a quarter. Visitors attended from the Star of New Zealand Lodge.
