FANCY DANCING
There -were so many entries received for the dancing competitions in connection with the Peace celebration festivities that all the entrants could not take part on the 19th iiisfc., and the Sports Committee found it necessary to engage the concert chamber of tho Town Hall on Saturday afternoon, in order to finish off the competition. At the conclusion, the judge of the dancing, Miss D. Guise, announced the following results :
Highland Fling^ (for children under 12 years of age)— Miss Phyllis M'Millan, 1; Mies Madge Curry, 2. Irish Jig—Miss Maggie O'Connor, I; Willie Brown, 2. ' Sailors' Hornpipe—Willie Brown, 1 ; Misses Phyllis M'Millan and Maggie O'Connor, 2.
The prizes for all the dancing competitions were presented by Mr. A. Marryatt, chairman of the Peace Sport-s Committee. . For her services in so ably judging the competitions, Mr. Marryatt presented Miss Guise with a small token of appreciation fi'om his .committee.
Mr. D. M'Laren presided, and the dance music was supplied by Miss L. O'Leary on the piano, and bagpipe music by the brothers A. and 51. Campbell. Votes of thanks were passed to iithe judge, pianist, pipers, and chairman.
