ENGLISH RAILWAY STRIKE
DISPUTE SETTLED.

The Norih-Eastern railwaymen have accepted a settlement of their dispute. [Tile strike began at Doncaster on account of the rejection of a driver owing to failing eyesight, and spread throughout the North-Eastern Railway system, causing a serious food situation in the north-eastern counties. The Railwaymen's Union management arranged a settlement on the basis of a postponement of the drivers' tests and the reinstatement of suspended men, but it was stated yesterday that the strikers had repudiated the settlement.]
