EMPRESS THEATRE.
■ The Empress Theatre presents a gay appearance just now, the front entrance having been beautifully decorated with greenery and a judicious arrangement of coloured lights in honour of -peace. Crowded sessions on Saturday admired both the decoration scheme and the excellent entertainment provided inside. The main feature of an interesting programme is'the Triangle drama, "Reckoning Day," in -which Belle Bennett, the winsome '-Australienne, and Barney Sherry, are the co-stars. .It is a fascinating story of how a mere- girl lawyer outwits German trickery disguised behind fake ) charity funds. It deals with the. work' of the Secret Service, being based on facts disclosed during the war. Belle Bennett is charming as the girl attorney, aud>: a .fine cast. supports her. There are good ■ accompanying films, and Mr. Melvin renders new and catchy Vocal numbers for the popular community singing.'
