MARAMA'S TROOPS
LANDED IN WELLINGTON.
■ The hospital ship Marama, with some 700 officers and men of the N.Z.E.F. on board, berthed at the Glasgow Wharf at 1.30 p;m. on Saturday.' Among the members of the draft were a number who had lost limbs on active service. As soon as the ship berthed, Major-General Sir Alfred Robin and Brigadiei'-General Richardson visited her. The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), the Mayorfess, ; , and the ladies of the Mayoress's. Committee, were also present to Welcome the men and supply them with. cigarettes and fruit. Though motor-cars were .much in demand for the Peace Celebrations, there was a good muster of members of the1 Voluntary Motor Cops, and the soldiers who lauded were speedily conveyed to their various destinations. Refreshments were provided liberally at the Returned Soldiers' Club. 'The disembarkation was supervised by Captain Prictor. The Marama embarked the invalided men at Southampton, and sailed oil 9th June. On the journey 'through the Panama Canal the troops had the usual hos-: pitable reception. The Marama sailed at 10.50 p.m. on Saturday for Lyttelton and Dunedin. )
