MEAT COMPANY FUSION
Messrs N elson Brothers' meat works a£ Tomoana (Hawkes Bay), and Taruhera (Gisborne), which wei-e recently reported eold, were, it appears, purchased by JVlesats. Vestey Brothers, of" the Union Cold. Storage, trading in New Zealand, as W. and B. Fletcher, Ltd., '■with1 head office in Auckland. The price payable is £600,000, represented as to £500,000 by 6 per cent, mortj gages, allocated among the difiefent properties, and as to £100,000 by 6 per cent, preference shares in the Union Cold Storage Company, Ltd. Messrs. Nelson Brothers are also interested ini the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Coompany to the extent of £224,----.495 of the £225,000 ordinary shares of the company. The arrangement involved- -th'o £10 preference (shares to be full paid £1 preference share for every fully pai d£l preference share for every five £1 ordinaiy shares. ' ■•_
