Sir John Brunner is dead, aged 77.

[Sir John Brunn" ' was chairman of the great alkali mamii .luring firm of Brunner, Mond, and Co. He and Ludwig Mond established the business in 1873, at Norwich., and the manufactory became the largest alkali works in the world. He was a liberal benefactor, and took a considerable part in ■ public affairs, especially in reference to education and labour questions.]
