PROTESTANT POLITICAL ASSOCIATION

The Rev. Howard Elliott, addressed a meeting in the Kent-terrace Presbyterian Hall last evening. Mr. Mark Leatnan presided... The speaker dealt with the need for Protestant organisation to preserve the liberties of the people, and to secure the freedom of . the Parliament and Government from clorical control. Referring to the propaganda of the Protsstant Political Association, the difficulties created by tho lack of Protestant history owing to the silence of the Protestant clergy and the manipulation of the school history, the speaker said that tho task of supplying the lack was being undertaken, and the hope was expressed that the.Protestant churches would turn their attention to inculcating the facts of the history of the faith. The activities, of the Church of Rome in the affairs of the State, in establishing .secretarian schools and in'occupying grounds of advantage to itself were touched upon, and the members were urged to enter heartily into.the work of the association in view of the approaching elections. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to tho speaker, and to Miss Gray and ColoneJ Mackintosh, who had contributed musical items,
