ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS.

Mr. W. Auld presided over the weekly meeting of the Management Commitioo of ths Wellington Football Association, held last' evening. The matter ol a protest from Wadestown against Institute Fourth A Division playing a lad over age camo up for discussion. Evidence was produced to show that the boy was over the age limit. It was also reported to ■ the committee that the player in question had made false representations to tho Institute team conI enraing his age. It was decided that t.lio points scored by the Institute in this game should count against them for the championship The boy will be suspended until ho 'makes an appearance before the Management Committee. The Rugby Union is to be requested to take steps to stop the practice of Rugby players goal-kicking on Association grounds when matches are in progress. , A suggestion was received from tho Now Zealand Football Association to the effect that the local body should secure more prominence in the press. It was resolved to reply to tho New Zealand Association that as far as tho Wellington press was concerned the greatest consideration and help have always been evinced towards the association. Recently the secretary wrote to the Technical College, asking that a certain player who attends the school should !>o allowed to play Soccer, instead of Rugby. The latter game is played at the school. Tho director replied that it was ijuito optional for a scholar to play either game. 'The City Council notified that tho eastern portion of Basin Reserve would be available for Soccer purposes from ■ tho 14th instant, on the condition that tho ground would not be used for' special games. If the ground 'is wanted for special games, representation must bo made to the Reserves Committee. Existing conditions as to notification of whether resorvos are in a fit condition to be played on wet Saturdays are con-. siderod to be unsatisfactory. The chairman (Mr. Auld) was delegated to consult., the Reserves Committee with a view io an improvement in this direction.
