Auckland defeated the Maori Pioneer Battalion Rugby team by 22 points to 11. The game was exciting throughout. The Ancklanders scored 8 points in the last quarter. For Auckland tries were scored by Nixon (2), Wilson, Fletcher, Ross, and Thomas, while Nixon and Trussing converted one each. For the Maoris, Hingston, Wilkinson, and Jacobs scored, Jacobs converting one.
