His Excellency the Governor-General and the Countess of Liverpool and party are now in Auckland. They will leave on the steamer Tntanekai on Wednesday to visit Whangarei and Thames, as it will be the last opportunity for them to do so before sailing for England. Ross, who practised Ins profession in Pctono for many years. TII3 deceased, who was 49 years of age and unmarried, was a son of the late Rot. John Ross, Presbyterian' minister at Turakina, who arrived from Glasgow in 1866, and after being stationed at Masterton for five "years was transferred to the Rangifikei. Dr. Ross had been ill for about a fortnight, and on Wednes.day last lie entered the Bowen-street Hpspital. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia. Dr.' Ross did excellent work at Petono during the epidemic. He'was also extremely popular in bo%vling circles. Mrs. J. M. Morice, of- Wadestown, is a sister of. the deceased. Mr. J. C. Seanlon, who was gaoler at Wellington for some time, and has been in charge of the Lyttelton Gaoland the Women's Reformatory at Addington for several years past/ is about to. become gaoler at Napier. Mr. Seanlon was presented last week by the medical officer and staff of the Addington Reformatory with a gold pendant in recognition of his sympathetic administration. • A meeting of creditors in the estate of the late Miss E. E. Walker, nurse, was called for this morning in the office of the Official Assignee. There was only one Wellington creditor present, and the meeting was adjourned sine die. The balance of liabilities over assets were £99 Ss lOd, the unsecured creditors being Mrs. Pilling, £261 13s Id, and' N.Z; Times' Co., Ltd., £9 ss. The secured creditors were, State Advances £350, and Mrs. Ballard, £101 15s. ■ .: j Messrs. C. W.
