LONDON, 25th April. • There was.a heated scene during the sittings of the Coal Commission, Mr. Smillie, Sir. L. Chiozjsa. Money, and others representing the miners, threatening to withdraw as a protest against Mr. Leslie Scott intervening on behalf of royalty owners.
Subsequently, . Mr. Justice Sankey agreed to Mr. Smillie's proposal to subpoena the Marquis of Bute, tho Earls of Dunvaven,- Northumberland, Durham, Londonderry, and others in . order to examine their titles and investigate their incomes from royalties.. An objection was raised that it would require a pantcqhnicon to carry Lord Durham's titles.
