A GERMAN OPPORTUNITY
PAPERS MAKE THE MOST OF IT^
(Received April 25, 9 a.m.)
AMSTERDAM, 26th April.
The German newspapers make the most of the Paris contretemps. Some of them say that Italy finds she made a mistake in deserting the Roman Alliance, while others claim that Italy is being victimised for the benefit of the Fourteen Points, while France and Britain get a long share regardless of them. Some papers hope that Germany will benefit by the decision..of the Entente; and others that the decisions already reached » 4 will he revised according to the Fourteen Points. Some of the press comments are exceedingly bitter. They accuse the Allies, especially England, of securing their-own interests in Asia, the Pacific, and Africa regardless of the Fourteen Points, while insisting on their observance in Italy's case.
