"SPLIT VOTES AND CIVIC SERVICE"

TO THE EDITOR. ' Sir, —There appeared in your issue of 21st April, a letter headed "Split Votes and Civic Service," written by Mr. James Macintosh. In this letter this gentleman made three direct charges against Mr. J. P. Luke in reference to the Mayoral contest. " would like to point out that up to the present Mr. Luke has made no attempt whatever to refute these charges. They are of the utmost public importance, and as an elector, and on behalf of the rest of the electors,. I maintain that the letter referred to calls for a specific reply from Mr. Luke, either, on the platform or through the medium of your columns.—l am, etc., CIVIL ELECTOR, 26th April.
