RUGBY TOURNAMENT

The Rugby season has now started, and judging- by the standard of play and the large number of spectator!, at- tho seven-a-side tournament at Athletic Park on Saturday last, there is every prospect, of a most successful year.

-. In the senior grade, Petontj, who entered a. strong team, wero the victors, with four wins, andl in their final match against Athletic showed splendid form, winning by 15 points to nil. Ponekemado a pood showing, and were unfortunate in losing their game against Petone in the semi-final on ihe toss, both teams scoring six points.

Wellington College A team won the fifth class contest with four wins, defeating Athletic by 20 points to 0 in the final, after an interesting and loose game. St. Patrick's College, who mad© a good showing, were defeated by Wellington College A on tho toss, the score being one all.
