A COLD NIGHT

During the past twenty-four hours high barometric pressure has ruled in the North, but in and southward of Cook Strait the weather conditions have been disturbed by the passage of a storm area southward of the Dominion. Rain has fallen in various parts of the country. To-day's forecast states that cool and changeable weather, with scattered showers, is probable, and a very cold night may be expected. The barometer shows a temporary rising tendency, and southerly winds, moderate to strong, are likely to prevail.
