(Received April 22, 1 p.m. ) ; PARIS, 21st April Inquiries show that Landa,u, accused of the murder of several women, is an j educated man, possessing diplomas of science and literature, and is well supplied with money. Besides his villa, he had two houses near Paris, and a flat in Paris with two garages, which, he used in his fraudulent traffic. He has a wife and four children, has used a dozen aliases, and has served various terms of imprisonment. The police discovered a package in one of the garages in which | were ten envelopes, each containing the name, date, photograph, and lock'of the ; liair of each of his supposed victims, : including the three known to be missing. Neighbours at various times noticed bon- ; ares ia, the gardens of Landau's houses, ! where heaps of cinders, a blood-stained ; cord, and a < mattress and other inculpatory .cridoncs hava been discovered.
