MAHENO ARRIVES
HOSPITAL SHIP AT AUCKLAND
SEVERAL DEATHS ON THE
VOYAGE.
1(11 TBLBQIUPH.—PBBB3 ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day. | The hospital ship Maheno arrived this J morning, with 22 officers, 4 nurses, and j 366 other ranks. She brought the last ]of ,ilm New Zealand invalided soldiers, j She sailed with 250 cot cases, which i were reduced during the voyage to 55. , A few cases on board are very serious. The following deaths occurred on the voyage : — Lance-Corporal G. Graham, Awahuri. Private T. Renfrew, Auckland. Private T. O'Connell, Christdmrch. Driver P. Johnston, Gisborne. The latter was given a military funeral at Colon; the others were buried at sea. The Governor-General visited the ship on arrival here.
The Maheno will arrive in Wellington at 8 o'clock on Thursday morning, and berth at the Glasgow Wharf.
The Monowai will arrive with the North Island troops from the Corinthic at 6.30 a.m. on Thursday. .'
