Interviewed by the New York World's correspondent, Said Pasha Zaghlel, President of the Egyptian Legislative Assembly and head of the Egyptian Nationalist deputation to Paris, said the object of the deputation is to make known Egypt's desire for independence. "The Egyptian Nationalists' Government is not religious, anti-foreign, or pan-Arabic. We do not desire any. confederation with neighbouring countries."
