SAILORS' REST

Another of those very pleasant social evenings so much enjoyed by the sailors visiting this port, was given in the rooms, Post Office Square,. under the auspices of the British and Foreign Sailors' Society, the arrangements being in the hands of Miss Gubbins, who was assisted by a number of energetic helpers. Several items were, given by the eailors, while Miss 0. Pringle sang a number of songs, also Miss , Gubbins gave a recitation. The sailors appreciation for their. entertainers was shown in the way they carried their vote of tha.nks, and before the company dispersed, the president of the local branch delivered a short Gospel address.
