LONDON POLICE

A DEADLOCK REACHED

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPIRIGHT.) (ABBIRALIAS-NBW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 27th February.

The Police Commissioner (General Sir Nevil MacCready), owing to the tone of a letter from the executive of the Metropolitan Policemen's organisation, in which the Commissioner's good faith is challenged, emphatically refuses further dealings! with the executive, which, he says, is holding a pistol at his head and trying to tell him what to do. He adds that the limit has been reached. If the men wish to continue negotiations they must elect a different executive. The deadlock concerns overtime rates!
