A new war precautions regulation empowers the Commonwealth to deport persons who enter Australia without a passport. There have been nineteen deaths from influenza, making the total 283. The Superintendent of the Melboarne Hospital states that the epidemic bliows no signe of abatement. He considers that the Board of Health figures of the deathrate are inaccurate. Durii; the past five days there have been IcO deaths, which are at six times the rate the authorities estimate. (Received February 14, 11._0 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Dt.y. There have been two more deaths from influenza.
In order to protect Queensland, the Government has refused to issue railway tickets for passengers beyond Glennes, unless a declaration is signed that the passengers are not going to Queensland.
SYDNEY, 13th February. The Cabinet has decided to modify the mask regulations, permitting discarding in open spaces where no crowds aro congregating. It will also allow open-air church services and meetings. Other restrictions are unchanged.
