OCEAN YACHT RACE
On© of the most interesting fixtures held under the auspices of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club takes place tomorrow. This will be the ocean race from Wellington to Port Underwood and back. The start will be made from Clyde Quay Wharf. All the yachts competing will 'cross the line at the same time. The fleet of yachts entered in the race will probably make as fine a show as is to be seen anywhere in. Australasia, provided the weather is good. The following yachts have been entered':—Waitangi, Marangi, Ailsa, Wairere IL, Kotiri 11.. White Heather, lolantbe, and Galatea.
On arrival at Port Underwood, which is about forty-four miles from the starting line, f_e yachts will anchor, and will, make a flying start from Port Underwood on the return journey at eight o'clock next morning. This race is becoming a classic fixture amongst the Wellington yachtsmen, and a great amount of interest is being taken in the results. - The yachts have been requested by the club to keep a log-book, and tp enter therein any details with Tegard to position, weather, etc., at intervals of not more than one hour. Those interested in sport should have a fine view of the yachts storting from Clyde-quay Wharf at 2 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon the. returning yachts will probably be seen crossing the finishing line.
